Purabi Chowdhury is a renowned Bangladeshi artist. As a graduate [Bachelor of Music (Classical Dance)] from Visva Bharati University (Santiniketan) India, she brings her rich tradition of Bengali classical and traditional music and dance from Bangladesh.
As a cultural instructor, she is currently teaching Bangladeshi children both dance and music
at “Bengali language and cultural school (blcs) Melbourne”.
Pruabi hails from a musically inclined family and has procured systematic training in music and dance since her childhood from well known Ustad Jagannando Barua in Chittagong, Bangladesh. With 25 years of dedication, including numerous awards and accolades in Bangladesh and India she moved to Australia in 2015. Her students range from complete beginners to advanced working vocalists & classical dancer in all age group of 3 to 50 years old.
MUSIC – Purabi can teach from start‐up Sa re ga ma to basic folk, Adhunik, Rabindra & Nazrul Sangit for children and adults. She usually follows the nationally recognized syllabus of Ustad J. Barua from Bangladesh (up to level 7).
DANCE – Purabi can teach folk, general dance, Monipuri (Tandob and Lasya) & Kathakali for the beginners & professionals. In addition, she helps costuming and stage performances for the children.
